I am a Marriage & Family Therapist, licensed by the Board of Behavioral Science in California. I graduated from Sonoma State University with a Masters in Counseling in 1982 at which time I opened my private practice in the Santa Rosa area. I have served on the staff of public agencies such as Social Advocates for Youth, Chrysalis Counseling Services for Women, Face to Face, and more recently, Creating Wellness, North Bay Critical Incident Stress Management team, the American Red Cross, and Psychiatric Assessment Team for Memorial Hospital. I have worked for Sonoma County Mental Health in both Adult Services and Forensic. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT).
My work has been most profoundly influenced and illuminated by the work of Carl Jung, who devoted his life to studying and working all of human experience, both personal & transpersonal, into cogent & meaningful forms. I am in a reading group whose focus is the collected works of Carl Jung, and a more general monthly group where we discuss topics from the latest research in neuro-biology to astrology as a therapeutic tool.
My interest in dreams began at the age of 12 when I began writing them in a journal. It is natural, then, that I am a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams. I have presented papers to the annual conferences since 2007. I have published two books in collaboration with like-minded colleagues: "Four Perspectives on Soul-Making: Dreams & the Religious Function of the Psyche" and "Drinking the Greene Lyon's Blood: Five Women Dream the Transformation of the Inner Masculine."
